In Loving Memory of
Sean O’Doherty
Senior Trial Attorney | 1949 – 2025
With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life and legacy of Sean O’Doherty, a cherished colleague, gifted litigator, and beloved friend. Sean passed away in 2025, leaving behind more than four decades of remarkable contributions to the legal field and an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Sean was not just a senior trial attorney—he was a pillar of strength, integrity, and wisdom within our firm. Over his 45-year career, Sean became one of the most respected voices in complex litigation, handling trucking, aircraft, and bus accident cases with unmatched precision and care. His experience spanned both the plaintiff and defense sides, giving him a rare perspective and making him an invaluable strategist in even the most challenging matters.
A graduate of Western State College of Law and a proud member of the California Bar since 1979, Sean’s credentials were as solid as his courtroom presence. He was licensed in multiple federal jurisdictions and was a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a testament to his professionalism and trial excellence.
Sean’s victories were many, including a $13.5 million recovery for a paraplegic client, and numerous other successful outcomes that transformed the lives of those he represented. Yet what defined him most was not the numbers, but the dignity and dedication he brought to each case. Clients trusted him deeply—not just as their lawyer, but as their advocate and guide during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Inspired by a family legacy rooted in law enforcement and public service, Sean pursued the law not just as a profession, but as a calling. He believed in justice, in transparency, and in the power of human connection. He communicated clearly, treated people kindly, and always prioritized doing what was right.
Outside of the courtroom, Sean was a man of many talents and passions. He loved music, playing guitar and banjo with joy and skill. He also served as a volunteer mediator for the Los Angeles County Resolve Program, giving his time to help others find resolution and peace.
Sean’s presence within our firm will be irreplaceable. He mentored younger attorneys, led by example, and brought calm to even the most intense moments. He was deeply respected—and even more deeply loved.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Sean’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy lives on in the clients he fought for, the colleagues he inspired, and the values he upheld every day.
May his memory be a blessing.
